Lloyd R. Sams was nominated to the Board of Directors for the 2022 Annual Meeting. Mr. Sams has served as a Founder and Managing Principal of BIA Digital Partners since 1999. BIA raised two private mezzanine and equity funds totaling $283 million during this period, and focused its investments in the communications sector. Mr. Sams has been a Board member of seven companies and a Board observer on nine others. He also ran the Lower Middle Market Investing Team at Business Development Corporation of America from 2013 to 2015, been a Managing Director at MoonSail Capital (2017-2018), and served as President of EveryIncome, a fintech startup and wholesale broker/dealer from 2018-2019. He was a Board member and investor in Aceyus, Inc., a data analytics software company, from 2020 to 2021 and is currently working as an independent consultant.

Mr. Sams brings eighteen years of corporate banking experience to the Company, principally with First Union (now Wells Fargo) and First Chicago (now JP Morgan). At First Union, Mr. Sams was Managing Director and Group Head for Communications and Media Finance, the largest and most successful specialized industry within the Capital Markets Division of First Union in the 1990’s. Over his seven-year tenure, the Group’s commitments grew eight-fold to $6 billion and expanded into several new sectors and investment banking products. From 1982 to 1992, Mr. Sams was a Senior Banker at The First National Bank of Chicago. He headed the Telecommunications Team which managed the Bank’s relationships with wireless and wireline carriers from 1989 to 1992, after serving as a Media/Communications banker and an International Correspondent banker (in Abu Dhabi, UAE).

Mr. Sams received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses.
